Nic Woods Performance started from a real passion for racing, hard work, and family. After years of success behind the wheel in Junior Dragster bracket and outlaw racing, Nic Woods realized his true passion wasn’t driving—it was building horsepower, tuning combinations, and finding ways to make cars faster and more consistent. With guidance from his father, Richard “Woody” Woods, and his grandfather, George “Honker” Striegel of Clay Smith Cams, Nic spent countless late nights in the shop learning, testing, and developing the knowledge that would eventually become Nic Woods Racing.

Today, Nic Woods Performance proudly continues under the Clay Smith Engineering, Inc family alongside Clay Smith Cams and Mr. Horsepower Apparel, carrying on a multi-generational tradition of performance, innovation, and customer service.
